Phil Brangers is the Director of Events for the Embassy Suites and North Charleston Convention Center with PDA Productions Associates. He spent over 15 years as a freelance events production hand, trying to find a way to integrate the work he loves with family life. After adopting a son, he spent the last year moving from a life of on-location events that required long days and nights and a lot of travel, to an attempted work-life balance. “I think it's important every couple of years to pause and look back. If I’d looked back earlier, I would have seen other stepping stones.”

Judge Anne Elizabeth Barnes won election in 1998 to the Georgia Court of Appeals and was re-elected without opposition to a second term in 2004. In 2010 she was re-elected with more votes than any other candidate in the state of Georgia. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia and her Master of Laws in the Judicial Process from the University of Virginia. “I wasn't encouraged to run for judge on the Court of Appeals by the powers that be in 1996. The husband of my friend asked, ‘Why don't you run anyway?’ So I did! Without anyone’s backing in my social group, I almost won my first statewide race with 48.2% of the vote.”

Lee Ellis explains, “When I think about career planning, it really is about career management and the person that you are managing—yourself. So, everything always starts with self-awareness, because you can't manage what you don't know and understand. And the more management information you have, the better you can manage. So that's always a starting point, because every person is unique and to manage this unique entity—that’s you—you really have to have that good self-awareness, that good management information. That would include things like your strengths, your struggles, your values, and priorities.”

Bruce Langford has been an entrepreneur and musician all his adult life. He quit his day job in 2005, to become focused full time on the prevention of bullying. Working as a presenter and program creator in the bullying field, led Bruce to become a mindfulness coach and teacher. He believes when we focus on respect, bullying will decline. Bruce also hosts the Mindfulness Mode Podcast, where he shares the concept of mindfulness with the mainstream world.

Brian Thompson is founder of The Corporate Kid Organization, a nonprofit agency providing a unique mentoring program for “at risk” youth in urban centers of the United States. Too many teens, even very talented teens, are being lost to the neighborhood. Many do not have successful role models to help guide them to be the best they can be. “I'm an assistant scoutmaster in the Boy Scouts in the inner city. We just took a bunch of kids out to their first camping trip last week. We have to show these kids what life is about so they can ‘live life’ and not be merely ‘fans of life.’ That's what Corporate Kids is about. I want to show them what they can achieve so they can be in the game of life and playing the game of life.”
